Programme description

Friday, day 1.
Welcome to Imperial Saint-Petersburg

   
Morning: Arrival
Afternoon: Get-to-know bus tour
Evening: Official opening "Baltic Beauty"
 
Day 1 details ->
   
Morning: Arrival, airport pick-up on demand, check-in, state required tourists’ registration
   
Afternoon: We pick you up from the hotel/hostel, offer snacks in the bus, make a relaxed sight-seeing trip for general city overview- with very basic info, stops and get to know games, pictures, coffee-break
   
Evening: Opening of the project.
Welcome word in a conference room, ppt introduction of everyone, basic Russian language course.
Afterwards, you will be offered a place to have dinner and a bar to continue the “get to know each other” part
   
Saturday, day 2.
Follow the Romanovs
   
Morning: Adventurous tour "Follow the Romanovs"
Afternoon: Visit to Peter&Paul Fortress and Cathedral,
The burial place of Romanovs dinasty
Evening: "Intro to Russian history" presentation and discusion
Russian Ballet in Hermitage theatre (optional)
 
Day 2 details ->
   
Morning: Meet up in the city: walking tour: investigating the misteries of Russian tsars, finding keys to the questions.
   
Afternoon: Visit to Peter& Paul Fortress, walk on the walls, river beach panorama, visit to casemates and/or Peter& Paul Cathedral,
the burial place of Romanovs dinasty
   
Evening:

"Intro to Russian history" Main dinasties, milestones, connections, politics.
Russian Ballet in Hermitage theatre (optional)

 
Sunday, day 3.
Natural Adventure
   
All Day : Trip to the country-side: beauty of Nordic nature
 
Day 3 details ->
   
Morning: Meet up at the station, 1.5 hour train ride to the country-side
Walking route in the wilderness - 4 km
Russian hikers’ lunch*: cooking on fire
   
Afternoon: Russian traditional sport games and contests.
Another walk (~ 4 km) to the camping site
Sauna
   
Evening: Dinner in a camping cafe, rest
Pick-up by bus
   
Lunch is included in the package
 
Monday, day 4.
Religious Petersburg
   
Morning: Free
Afternoon: Religious Petersburg: Orthodox Cathedrals, Mosque, Buddhist temple
Evening: Late night walk for the bridges rise

Meeting up for discussin "Religions in Russia" and lunch

   
Afternoon: Visit to Orthodox Resurrection Church, Mosque, Buddhist temple (first in Europe),
Museum of Orthodox Isaak Cathedral, its colonnade (43m high)
   
Evening: Late night walk for the bridges rise
Clubbing (optional)
 
Tuesday, day 5.
Peterhof, the Russian Versalles
   
Morning: Boat ride through Finnish Gulf
Afternoon: Peterhoff park and palace
Evening: «Learning circle»
Jazz club

Morning: Hovercraft takes us from citycentre through Finnish Gulf to Peterhoff, the Russian Versalles
   
Afternoon: Peterhoff park and Imperial Palace
Hovercraft ride back
   
Evening: «Learning circle»: round tables with Russian students to discuss interesting issues on Russia and world
Jazz club (optional)
 
Wednesday, day 6
The Chic of Hermitage
   
Morning: Curious places
Afternoon: Hermitage museum
Evening: Russian cooking evening
 
Day 6 details ->
   
Morning: Proposed tour to the Russian Museum of Fine Arts, otherwise:
ramble through curious places: courtyards, roofs, hidden corners
   
Afternoon: Guided tour in Hermitage: no chance to see everything in one day, but you will have a big overview
   
Evening: Get together to learn cooking Russian food*, eat, have fun
   
Ingredients, cooking equipment, etc. are included in the basic package. Drinks are not.
 
Day 7
Pavlovsk and Pushkin - the humble corners for Emperiors
   
Morning: Trip to Pavlovsk, park and "tsars picnic"
Afternoon: Pushkin town, Elisabeth' Palace
Evening: Pubs & Clubs

Morning: Trip to Pavlovsk: palace and park, the hidden corners
